'The Dark Knight Rises' - July 20, 2012

Well this one is a given and anyone who knows anything about Batman will have a hard time arguing that Christopher Nolan is pretty much a god when it comes to these films. The director has completley rehauled the Batman franchise and has made the most truthful and realistic franchise the comic book has ever endured. Nolan's final instalment will hit theaters in 2012, and being his last film (he says) of his take on the caped crusader we can only imagine how epic it will most likely be. Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Nestor Carbonell, and even Katie Holmes will be reprising their roles in the film. Though that is good news, the new additions to the film make this film even more anctipating and exciting. Inception Co-stars Tom Hardy (Bane) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (role still unknown) will add to an already impressive cast that also includes Juno Temple, Anne Hathaway (Selina Kyle/Catwoman) as well as another Inception cast memeber in Academy Award Winner Marion Cotillard. Though Nolan has thrown some surprises past us such as the casting of Catwoman and the unexpectede Bane, I will reiterate myself when I say, In Nolan We Trust. Though fans make think of these casting as cheesey we all know that Nolan's take on them will be a far more gritter, realistic one than Joel Schuamcher's pathetic attempt in the 1990's. Gary Oldman said in a recent interview that he thought The Dark Knight couldn't be upped, and according to him after reading the screnplay he felt that this film was going to be even better. Production on the film is set for Pittsburgh this summer with a release date on July 20, 2012.
